A Celebration of Collaboration, Commitment and Community

On 1st February 2026, the Khudabadi Amil Panchayat of Bombay (KAP) hosted its 68th Annual General Meeting at the Sun n Sand Hotel, Juhu. What made this AGM truly special was not just the program itself, but the seamless collaboration between the KAP Event Committee and the Young Amil Circle (YAC), who worked hand in hand for nearly two months to bring the entire event together from an end-to-end perspective.

Preparations began as early as late October and early November. The KAP leadership and YAC committee initiated the planning process with an initial recce of the venue to understand logistics, stage layout, guest flow, technical requirements, and overall execution for the day. From there, a detailed to-do list was created, mapping out every segment of the AGM. Responsibilities were clearly divided, timelines were set, and constant coordination ensured that nothing was left to chance.

One of the central highlights of the AGM was the Felicitation of Students who had achieved academic excellence during the year. Invitations were sent out to deserving students across the community, certificates were prepared, mementos were curated for presentation, and every element was thoughtfully organized to ensure the recognition ceremony was dignified and meaningful. The meticulous preparation reflected the Panchayat’s continued commitment to celebrating merit and encouraging young achievers.

Simultaneously, the team worked on onboarding the three distinguished Chief Guests for the evening.

In the weeks leading up to the AGM, YAC played a pivotal role in creating widespread awareness about the event. Dedicated social media campaigns were executed across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, ensuring strong digital outreach. Collaborations were also initiated with R. D. National College and HR College to engage students and broaden participation. A week prior to the AGM, the YAC team convened for a focused review meeting at the Radio Club, where final details, stage flow, and responsibilities were aligned to ensure a smooth D-Day execution.

The AGM was graced by KAP President Dr. Indu Shahani, Vice President Chandraban Ramchandani, Secretary Ramesh Mansukhani, Joint Secretary Rashmi Mirchandani, & Additional Jt Secretary Laveena Shahani, Treasurer Shrikant Shivdasani, and other respected office bearers. The event was hosted by KAP events sub committee convenor Laveena Shahani & YAC president Sidharth Makhijani . The program progressed seamlessly from the President’s Annual Address and presentation of the new charter, to the speeches by the Chief Guests, student felicitations, and a soulful Sindhi cultural music segment that added a rich cultural dimension to the proceedings.

A defining moment of the AGM was when Dr. Indu Shahani announced the theme for the year: Education and Entrepreneurship, known in Sindhi as Ilm and Udham. She urged the committees to align upcoming initiatives and events around these pillars, encouraging the community to focus on intellectual growth and enterprise as guiding forces for the year ahead. The AGM also witnessed the announcement of the new members of both KAP and YAC, reinforcing continuity and leadership development within the Panchayat. Additionally, the Matrimony Team addressed the gathering and reflected on the success of the previous Matrimony Gala, while formally announcing the next Matrimony Gala scheduled for 11th April. This announcement was met with enthusiasm, as the initiative continues to strengthen community bonds and provide a meaningful platform for connection within the Amil community.

Despite the challenges of it being Budget Day as well as Derby Day, the turnout was remarkable. Amils from across the city gathered at Sun n Sand, reflecting the strength and unity of the community. The flawless execution of the AGM was a testament to the tireless efforts of both the KAP events sub committee and YAC, whose coordination, dedication, and shared vision ensured that every segment of the event flowed effortlessly.

The evening concluded on a warm and celebratory note with a delightful community lunch, giving members the opportunity to reconnect and reflect. The 68th AGM was not merely an annual meeting; it was a powerful demonstration of collaboration, cultural pride, and collective commitment toward shaping the future of the Amil community.
